On Tuesday it was 34 degrees and absolutely boiling hot but thankfully there was a strong wind which cooled things down. That’s the hottest temperature I’ve been in. We got tram 109 to St. Kilda and got off at Luna Park, which is a well known amusement park in Melbourne. It will be celebrating it’s 100 year anniversary this year.

We didn’t get on any of the rides, just had a look around. But some of the stomach- churning rides were too much for me to even  look at, as I get motion sickness quite badly. So we headed off for something to eat. St. Kilda is only ten minutes further down the  coast on the tram from Port Melbourne and is known as a very hippie/bohemian area. They have lots of cake shops there and if you have a sweet tooth, then that’s the place to be.

After some tapas at a café on the beach, we decided to head to Ackland Street, where  most of the shops (and cake shops) are. My God, it was mouthwatering looking at all the cakes they have in the shop windows. I would have liked to have seen more of the place, but with it being so hot, all of us just wanted to get back to the house, where it was cool. That evening we had a delicious barbeque in the garden. I couldn’t believe that it was still about 25 degrees at this time of the evening!
